Canalli was started in 1993 to import top quality Italian cribs
direct from Italy, bypassing the mark-up they'd have to pay to
Sorelle or Bonavita. All Canalli cribs are made by Golden Baby
in Italy, the same manufacturer that sells to Sorelle. As a result,
the quality is excellent-these cribs are double bolted for stability,
under crib drawers are reinforced and drop sides feature the
same hidden hardware/knee push rail releases you find in child
Craft's Legacy line. Prices are fantastic - $299 to $479, about
30% less than you'd pay for similar styles from other comparable
brands. A sample: Bellini sells the "Anne: crib with its
unique curved headboard for $700. The same style imported by
Canalli goes for $450. while Canalli imports all their cribs
from Italy, their case goods are made in New Jersey. Canalli
has patterned itself after Rumble Tuff for their case goods -
they use solid wood construction
(no MDF or particle board), dovetail joints and European glide
tracks.
Again, prices for case goods are excellent - $399 to $549 for
combo units. |
